A detailed, thorough review of your whole house using Matterport technology

We survey your home, taking measurements and photographs, including a Matterport Survey – a virtual tour recording of your home using 360° photography – to support detailed whole house advice from the Retrofit Coordinator, as well as quotes/measurements for installers.

Why do we include a Matterport Survey with your Ecofurb Plan?

1) It can save you time and money in installer communication.
The Matterport survey creates a detailed digital copy (or ‘digital twin’) of your home. This helps you communicate with installers easily and avoid mistakes that could lead to costly rework.

2) It can reduce architectural drafting costs.
The included floor plans and elevation drawings offer architects a precise and reliable starting point for their design work, potentially reducing initial site visits and measurement time.

3) It can simplify future planning permission applications.
The accurate spatial data and documentation provided by the Matterport survey streamline the process of preparing and submitting planning permission applications for future renovations or extensions.

Noting and respecting heritage features

We assess your home’s heritage and architectural features to ensure they are respected and protected throughout your project. We will only recommend measures suitable for the fabric of the building, and which won’t lead to more problems than you’ve solved!

icon

Heat loss assessment

We’ll assess the construction and condition of your home, and get your views to understand how easy it is to heat the home, and how it can be made easier and cleaner to heat through a mix of insulation, smart heating controls and low carbon heating.

(Please note that a heating installer will also do their own heat loss calculations home survey before quoting to install an air source heat pump. Go to our FAQs for more on this.)

Ensuring our recommendations are realistic

We will identify the constraints on the building that may prevent particular energy efficiency measures or low carbon heating options being installed. These could include the condition of the property, or planning restrictions.

icon

Avoiding duplication of effort

We will identify any energy efficiency measures already installed so we don’t recommend works you have already completed. If you have detail on their performance, we can use that data.

Identifying damp and mould problems

We aim to identify defects and structural issues, including damp and mould, so we can identify how energy efficiency and ventilation could help, or how issues could affect retrofit plans.

For example, one of our customers would like to install cavity wall insulation, but their wall is very wet in one place due to a broken gutter. We advised that they fix the gutter, let the wall dry out and then get quotes for the insulation.

“It was all useful as an overall assessment of things I half knew but was unsure about – especially the order of priority/effectiveness of which things would provide more bang for the buck.” James, Stratford
