Edit your home’s details in the Ecofurb Options tool and get an outline plan to make your home energy efficient.
Our free online energy efficiency advice platform invites you to refine the details of your home and your budget, and to enter your home energy goals.
This means we can identify a package of energy efficiency measures that is likely to suit your home, your household and your budget. And estimate what it could cost.
Here’s how it works…
We have every single home in the UK in our database – with information included from their EPCs, from OS and LIDAR data and from exhaustive cloning and analysis of similar housing types, drawing on both our own research and the data from analysing over 2 million social housing and local authority-owned properties.
Click on Edit to update the details we have on our database. Go through each part of your home using the buttons on the left to tell us if you’ve upgraded your boiler, added solar panels or changed your windows, for example. Or correct anything that’s no longer true about your home.
Step one of building your Ecofurb Options plan is that we ask you what your priority is. The tool then generates an outline retrofit plan for your home with rough estimates of costs for the work and energy savings based on each measure implemented.
Because the tool’s data is not based on a full Retrofit Assessment from an assessor visiting your home and providing details and photos for a Retrofit Coordinator, it is not 100% accurate in terms of the costs and savings, nor does it remove measures which might not be suitable because of other factors, such as not having space in the garden for an air source heat pump, or needing only half of your windows replacing rather than all of them.
By adding and removing measures, you can get an idea of how different upgrades will reduce your energy bills or carbon emissions and a broad outline of the budget you’ll need to implement them.
It gives you an idea of what is possible, so that you can either research your options, get installer quotes based on what you think you should do – or for more certainty, you can book an Ecofurb Plan and get a more detailed assessment of your home, and a more tailored plan of action.
To save your Ecofurb Options and get a link emailed to you for future reference, click the Submit button. Then you can come back any time using that link and update your details or amend your Ecofurb wishlist.
“I decided to go ahead with it [the Ecofurb Plan] and that, I thought, really helped get things going and pointed me in the right direction.”
