What is the Home Retrofit Trends Index?
The Ecofurb Home Retrofit Trends Index is a report intending to shed light on the current state of the UK’s home energy efficiency retrofit market, through our expert analysis of consumer attitudes and data-driven insights.
The Summer 2025 Ecofurb Home Retrofit Trends Index presents the latest data on homeowner attitudes toward energy-efficiency upgrades in the UK.
While awareness of retrofit benefits is growing, uptake remains low, with many homeowners citing financial, practical, and informational barriers to action. The report explores these challenges in depth and highlights the implications for homeowners, for the home energy efficiency market, and for UK government policy.
The Ecofurb Home Retrofit Trends Index is based on comprehensive research conducted by YouGov Plc., along with further data sources from our partners Cotality and Knight Frank Finance, as co-ordinated by Analogy PR.
All figures, unless otherwise stated, are from YouGov Plc. The total sample size was 2,081 adults, of which 1,343 were homeowners. Fieldwork was undertaken between 10-11th May 2025. The survey was carried out online. The figures have been weighted and are representative of all UK adults (aged 18+).
